The problem

AI data centers are running power infrastructure that was not designed for AI workloads

Modern AI accelerators impose power demand profiles that are qualitatively different from traditional server workloads: fast, large, and correlated. A GPU cluster can transition from near-idle to full load in milliseconds. Multiple accelerators may transition simultaneously, creating system-level disturbances that propagate through the shared DC bus.

Centralized power management systems cannot respond to these events in time — the communication latency alone exceeds the response window. Current converters handle fast transients with fixed protective thresholds: effective, but blunt. They protect the hardware but do not optimize the system response.

What we build

Converter-level control IP and reference DC power architectures

QuietEdge develops control IP that enables converters to observe system state, recognize transition conditions, and execute bounded protective and corrective responses locally — without waiting for a supervisory instruction. The supervisory layer retains authority over strategy; the converter handles the reflex.

Observer-first control architecture

The converter observes before it acts. It builds a model of system state before any bounded influence is introduced. Hardware protection remains independent and cannot be bypassed.

Fast local response

Bounded local response to load transients, fault conditions, and inter-converter interactions — operating on microsecond-to-millisecond timescales without waiting for central coordination.

Modular DC power architecture

Reference architectures for shared DC bus environments where multiple converters must coordinate without a central controller managing every interaction.

Control IP licensing model

QuietEdge IP is designed to integrate into OEM converter platforms through licensing, co-development, and reference architecture agreements — not as a standalone hardware product.

Development stage

Current evidence status

QuietEdge validation is baseline-first and observer-first. We establish a documented baseline before introducing any bounded influence, so results are directly comparable.

Embedded / MeasuredControl-code execution timing measured on TI AM2634: 4.07 µs average / 4.69 µs maximum, with approximately 59% average timing headroom against a 10 µs loop budget. This is embedded control-code timing, not full power-system response.
Hardware ValidationStaged 800 V-class SiC dual-active-bridge hardware validation is underway.

QuietEdge is not a converter manufacturer. The business model is control IP licensing: QuietEdge IP integrates into OEM converter platforms through licensing, co-development, and reference architecture agreements. The beachhead market is AI data-center rack power; the scalable asset is the control IP itself.
